Please see below our plan for the week ahead to help keep you informed of what is happening in our school.

Dates for your diary:

School Closures

Friday 2nd February: Our school will close early for this term’s staff meeting. Please note the following home-time arrangements:

  • buses will depart the school at 12pm,
  • Junior Infants & Senior Infants will leave at 12.10pm,
  • 1st – 6th class will leave at 12.20pm.

Monday 5th February – Bank Holiday – School closed

Thursday and Friday 15th & 16th February – School closed both days

Forthcoming Events:

Newgrange Trip – As part of their SESE and Learn Together studies, our two 5th classes will be visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site, Newgrange, in the Boyne Valley.  They will visit the exhibition centre and have a guided tour of the site with access to the chamber.  5th Class Green will visit on Tuesday 6th February.  5th Class Blue will visit on Wednesday 7th February. Payment for the bus needs to be made Aladdin by Thursday, 1st February, and thanks to all who have already done so.

Peace Proms Concert – Sat 3rd February: Children from our 3rd classes are taking part in the Peace Proms Concert in the RDS at 8pm. Reminder to all 3rd class parents to make payment for the Peace Proms Bus and thanks to all who have already done so. Separate communications will issue to 3rd classes with more information.

PTA News

PTA AGM – The PTA AGM will take place on Wednesday 21st of February at 7.30pm in the main hall.  The AGM is for all members of the PTA and will include updates on activities of the PTA committee throughout the year, such as the winter fair, etc.   Each parent and guardian of children attending Wicklow Educate Together N.S. are a part of the PTA and coming to the AGM is a great opportunity to hear more about what is going on within the school and opportunities to get involved.  Nominations to join the PTA committee will be accepted until Friday 9th of February.  A parent or guardian can nominate themselves by emailing [email protected].

Coffee Morning & Bake Sale – The PTA committee will be hosting a coffee morning and bake sale on Wednesday 14th of February. This Valentine’s Day themed event will begin with a coffee morning for parents/guardians at 9am and will be followed by a bake sale where the students can bring in €2 and will be allowed to pick some treats. We would greatly appreciate if any budding bakers could bake something for the bake sale. These contributions can be brought to the main hall before 9am on the day.

School Calendars – we have a small number of school calendars which can be purchased from the school office.

5th class swimming during the school day. Reminder to all 5th class parents to ensure children bring some extra lunch on Thursdays as the children are always hungry after swimming.

Reminder:  Thanks to all who have paid their swimming fee contribution. A reminder to those who haven’t done so that this must be paid in full by Wednesday 31st January.

Early closure – Buses will depart at 12, Junior and Senior Infants 12.10, 1st – 2nd Class 12.20.
