Junior infants blue have been busy learning about Autumn and Harvest. In Aistear we learnt about the two themes in fun and creative ways.

We followed a five step procedure to make salt dough which we then shaped into pumpkins. We were farmers harvesting and tending our crops in small world, we went on an Autumn trail with Niamh and we also harvested our own seasonal crops, in the classroom, of potatoes, brussel sprouts, peas and carrots. Not to mention singing the rhyme Dingle Dangle Scarecrow with 6th class! We had to teach them a few moves but they soon got the hang of it!

Also this week in maths we have been learning about longer and shorter. We made long and short towers with bricks.

In Irish we are learning about Óiche Shamhna, and in SESE we have been discussing the signs of Autumn.
