We had a lovely week before the midterm with lots of fun activities to keep us going. On Tuesday we baked bread and made our own butter which was a great way to incorporate the harvest theme and the story of The Little Red Hen.

In English we completed group 3 of our letter sounds and thank you for all the work that has been happening at home, it is really helping the children’s confidence in sounding out and reading simple words.

In Irish we focused on Halloween and in Maths we completed a term assessment and looked at objects in the classroom in terms of being ‘wider’ or ‘thinner’ than each other.

We sequenced the story The Little Red Hen  in History and in PE we had great fun completing an obstacle course in the hall.

On Friday we played Halloween games such as the ‘Flour Tower’, ‘Witchy, witchy….where’s your broom?’ and ‘Guess what’s in the Feely box’. Our class fairy brought popcorn for everyone to enjoy so all in all it was a great day.
