Autumn was in full flight last week in Junior Infants. Our Aistear stations included a nature walk with Eileen, planting daffodil bulbs, leaf rubbing, making hedgehog homes for winter’s hibernation and work on the farm.
We recited seasonal poems ‘Hilly Billy Hedgehog’, ‘3 Black Cats’ and ‘5 Little Pumpkins’ and completed the first 3 groups of letter sounds with great enthusiasm.
Gaeilge lessons focused on Oíche Shamhna (Halloween) where the children learned the rhyme ‘Is Mise an Puca’ and used masks acting as witches, cats and ghosts. and blending is coming along nicely.

The classroom was buzzing as we ended half term on dress up day. The children enjoyed their Halloween seó fashsion (fashion show), various Halloween games and a little explosive spell!

Wishing you all a lovely well-deserved rest this week after what has been a super and very special start to the school year. Kate
