Junior Infants had a busy first week back in school. We launched straight into our new theme Homes and House’s.
Aistear highlights included outdoor construction with Eileen and the home corner. The children will continue with this theme next week so please do check in with them about their various activities from the school day.
Stories under this theme include ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’, ‘The 3 little pigs’ and Julia Donaldson’s ‘A squash and a squeeze’.
In Learn Together the children are learning about the Hindu festival Diwali. Next week they will make diva lamps using clay.
There is wonderful enthusiasm for the Jolly Phonics programme as we come to the end of group 4 of the letter sounds. Keep up the great work of practising these sounds at home.
