Junior Infants should be feeling very proud of themselves after completing their first month at school.

It certainly was a busy last week of September. Our Aistear theme was based on the Doctor’s surgery, we spotted some potential doctors and nurses in the role play area. Other stations included construction; building a hospital, doctors’ posters in art and playground games with Sharon and Maeve.

This week’s big book was ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell.  In Maths the children worked on classifying objects into sets. We read ‘An Sicín beag buí’ in our Irish lessons. During PE lessons we focused on hand eye coordination using bean bags, please take every opportunity to practice throwing and catching at home.

The children continue to learn their letter sounds. They will have completed groups 1 and 2 by the end of next week. Please use their white sound book to practice at home.

Enjoy looking through some photographs of their great work this week and have a lovely weekend.
