IMPORTANT ADVANCE NOTICE:
6th Class Graduation – Thursday 27th June at 12.00pm in the main hall.
Summer Break – School will close for the Summer break on Friday 28th June at 12.30pm for all pupils and reopen on Wednesday 28th August.
Aftercare – Our aftercare facility will close on Thursday 27th June at 5.30pm and reopen on Wednesday 28th August (1.30pm to 6.00pm daily).
Blood Transfusion Board Clinic – Tuesday 25th June & Wednesday 26th June
Possible disruption tomorrow – The builder next door has advised that they will be doing a lot of work on opening the entrance tomorrow Friday. Please be aware this may cause some disruption.
Extra-curricular activities – Reminder that term 3 of our extra-curricular programme finishes this week for all activities except Glee Club, who will have their final class next Monday 17th June.
Summer Camp – WETNS Summer Camp – Monday 1st July – Friday 5th July and Monday 8th July – Friday 12th Jul at a cost of €90.00 or €170.00 for two weeks. We only have a few spaces left in our camp so if you would like to book a place please contact [email protected] as soon as possible.
School Reports – School reports will be available to view on the Aladdin Connect App the week of Monday 17th June. If you have not already installed the Aladdin Connect App on your phone you will need to do this to access the reports. Please email [email protected] if you have any queries and we will respond as soon as we can.
Book Rental/Sundries Fees – Book rental, sundries fees and swimming fees for school year 2019/2020 must be paid by Tuesday 25th June. We would ask as many families as possible to pay online using the Aladdin link sent last week. If you are paying cash, please have the exact amount in a sealed envelope with the signed form.

Book Rental Books
Please bring them all back by Monday 17th. Paula and volunteer parents will check them back in pupil by pupil, class by class. If there are any lost or carelessly damaged, you will be notified of the relevant charge – a contribution towards replacing the book. (Help needed with re-covering some books, and processing new books – anyone available? Garda vetting required. 9am in the library – most mornings from next Wed 19th, to end of term.)
All other books or equipment belonging to the school – Please have a good search around at home and return all books and equipment by Monday 17th. Please give them to your child’s teacher.
Aftercare Job Vacancies – Wicklow Educate Together N.S.
We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic people to join our aftercare team here at the school. Initial working hours will be 12.45pm – 6pm Monday to Friday on a shift rota. Qualifications and experience in childcare required. Applicants must be highly organised and computer literate. If you are interested in applying, please send your CV to [email protected] by Friday 21st June 2019.
Lost Property – We have a large amount of Lost Property here at the school and would really like to return all the coats, jackets, hoodies, cardigans, t-shirts, hats and gloves to their owners before we close for the Summer break. Our lost property rail will be outside the main doors at collection time each day. All unclaimed property will be donated to charity on 28th June.
Are you leaving WETNS? If you are planning to leave the school at the end of the year please let us know, in writing, at your earliest convenience. It is better for the school to know as soon as possible as we have waiting lists for most classes in the school.
Party Invitations – reminder that party invitations should be distributed outside of school.
PTA Update
We had our first PTA Meeting on the 5th of June, thank you to all that attended.
The annual school Sports Day was held on Tuesday the 11th of June. It was great to see so many parents coming along to support their children. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped out on the day!
Thank you to the PTA volunteers for hosting tea/coffee and treats.
Dates for your diaries:
Bag Pack in Supervalu tomorrow (Friday) the 14th June. We are still looking for volunteers. If you could spare an hour or two please email [email protected]
Bike to School Day will be rescheduled. An email will be sent confirming the new date. Parents needed on all routes and to help at school to park bikes. (Must be Garda Vetted)
Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Saturday August 24th in the Abbey Grounds.
