Tomorrow is Jersey Day in aid of Educate Together’s yearly fundraising event. We request €1 to be sent in to directly to class teachers please in aid of this.

 

Holiday Cards went home in school bags with details attached. Price per pack of cards is €10. Also, don’t worry about the ‘Code’ on the form. The Code details are for office use only.

 

Open Day                                                                                                                                                     Our Open Day is scheduled for Sunday 20th November from 2-4pm. All welcome.

Parent Teacher Meetings                                                                                                                                                                            Parent Teacher Meetings will be held on the afternoons of 23rd and 30th November. Individual Notes went home in school bags yesterday. If you did not receive a meeting schedule or you need to change your time/date, please contact Fran as soon as possible on 0404-62786.

‘Fighting Words’ Visit to Glencree                                                                                              Children from 2nd – 6th classes will visit Aurora Education Centre. Please see the date schedule below.          Time for each visit is 10.00am-12.00pm so coaches will be arranged for these trips.

Basketball Blitz & Athletics Tuesday 22nd November                                                             There is a basketball blitz in Greystones and Athletics on Tuesday 22nd November. Notes will be given to those individuals who are scheduled to go on these trips. This is our first time WicklowETNS is entering a Basketball competition. Best of luck to all our athletes.

Facility Manager required for Wicklow Educate Together NS                                                   The Board of Management is currently seeking a facility manager. The role of the facility manager is to manage and oversee the implementation of the extra-curricular activities programme

The role involves the following tasks Liaising with extracurricular providers

  1. Timetabling the Extra Curricular Activities [ECA] within the school
  2. Organising, with parent helpers a registration evening for parents
  3. Coordinating a register of those attending ECA
  4. Ensuring orientation of pupils to their chosen activity
  5. Acting as main point of contact for providers and parents
  6. Overseeing best practice in health and safety during ECA

Reporting The main line of communication will be with the principal, a brief report will be presented at each BOM meeting which will have input from the facility manager.                               Remuneration The rate of pay is €15 per/hour.                                                                   Hours of Work It is envisaged that the position will routinely be 2 hour 30 minutes per day, during extra- curricular term times.                                                                                     Holidays School holidays apply and work will be carried out during extra-curricular term times only.    Garda Vetting The successful applicant will undergo a garda vetting process                               Trial period There will be an initial 3 month trial period for the position                                       Review The Facility Manager position will be reviewed by the BOM, annually.                                       Application Procedure Please apply by email to [email protected], FAO Principal Sinead Watson. PTA NOTES                                                                                                                                                                  PTA meeting next Wednesday morning at 9 am to include planning meeting for the Christmas Fair.  (See details below)  It would be useful if those who have offered to help already or if  you are in a position to help either organising in advance of or at the Fair itself to attend if possible.

WETNS NA NOLLAIG CHRISTMAS FAIR 2016 – SUNDAY, 11th DECEMBER from 12 – 5 pm.      The WETNS na Nollaig Christmas Fair will take place in the school hall on Sun, 11th Dec from 12-5pm.  We will be having a full craft and artisan food fair this year along with the traditional school fair items such as carol singing, mulled wine and mince pies, craft activities for the children, grand raffle, etc.  The Fair is open to parents, staff, pupils, family/friends and the general public to take a stall.  If you run a children’s craft activity you are welcome to take a space also.  You can share a stall with another parent if you wish, i.e. one table space.  Pass the word to any crafters or artisan (handmade) food producers you know.  Booking forms can be obtained from the school office or email [email protected].

A SMALL COMMITTEE OF HELPERS (4 or 5 people) REQUIRED TO ORGANISE THE FAIR.  There is likely to be a lot of interest from the townspeople as this is our first Fair in our new building.  If you can help out either in advance or on the day please contact Yvonne 089 418 5867 or [email protected].
