PTA NOTES
Summer Fair 2016
Sunday, 12th June from 1pm-4pm
Things are starting to come together for our last Marine House summer fair but we really need some last minute volunteers to help set up and clear up and co-ordinate a few of our activities. The plan is that the more that help out, the less time each volunteer has to give. Any of you who have past pupils and/or teenagers that would like to help we would so so happy to have them. Our aim is that EVERYONE has a lovely fun filled afternoon and isn’t tied to any activity for the duration.
We especially need volunteers to help out on the bouncy castles (maybe one for the Dads), face-painting (we will have a small selection of ideas to choose from). There are several stalls too that need to be set up and watched throughout. You won’t be tied to them
Create a Keepsake, Hook a Duck and Bubbles and the Treasure Hunt. These stalls could be looked after by our teenage volunteers!
Any parents who are crafters are more than welcome to share their wares with us. It is always lovely to see our wealth of talent! Bring your business cards too.
There will be a plant stall selling edible and non-edible plants and seedlings for your garden. There will be a box by the garden from this afternoon where you can leave plant donations. Tell you Grannies and Grandads, neighbours, friends to come and pick up a bargain. All proceeds will go to the new school garden. Any queries please contact Amber on 087 7542996.
We still need raffle prizes. If any of our parent body are in a position to donate please do. Nothing is too small.
Our Street Feast is coming along nicely but please remember to bring a plate to share. This has always been a fantastic success in whatever guise we have done it.
The entertainment is filling up with past pupils returning and parents performing and pupils showing off their talents. If you would like to perform please contact Magda on 087 2885605.
Dave Cavanagh will be doing the portraits again this year also.
Set up & take down: 4-5 people before (from about 11.30-12.30) to help set up the gazebo for the stage area and set out tables and after (from 4pm – 5pm) to clear up afterwards.
Finally keep your fingers crossed for a lovely day weather wise. Any queries, offers of help etc can be sent to Yvonne on 089 4185867 or Tara on 085 7246689.
Really looking forward to our last knees up on The Murrough. Spread the word!! We would love to see faces from throughout our 13 years.
Teacher v Pupil Soccer Match organised by the Student Council
The long awaited Teacher v Pupil soccer match will take place on Friday, June 24th.
This is the second year of this fun event organised by the Student Council. The pupil team to play the teachers is the winning team from the Soccer League organised by the Student Council earlier in the term.
We ask each pupil to bring in 1 euro on the day in honour of the event. All the money collected will go to the two chosen charities for this year i.e. Wicklow Hospice and Focus Ireland.
The Student Council would really appreciate your support.
