Saturday, 27th August from 2pm – 5pm at Kilmacurragh Gardens, Kilmacurragh
(This is the day the teddy bears have their picnic!)
Once again it’s picnic time for teddy bears and newcomers to WETNS and their parents are invited to come along to the beautiful Kilmacurragh Gardens on Saturday afternoon, 27th August from 2pm – 5pm to join in the fun and games and follow the Teddy Bear Trail. Don’t forget to bring a picnic and your very special teddy bear friend with you to keep you company while you meet your new classmates. The Teddy Bears’ Picnic is aimed at incoming Junior Infants (incl. Early Intervention class), Senior Infants and 1st class children but children of all ages and their parents are of course welcome. Texts have been sent to as many incoming Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st Class parents as we have contact numbers for but please pass the word anyway to any WETNS pupils & parents.
Now, everybody sing …”If you go down to the woods today …”
Directions to Kilmacurragh Gardens:
Take the Marlton Road (beside Grand Hotel) out of Wicklow town to The Beehive junction. (If coming off the M11 motorway it’s Exit 18.) Go across the bridge over the M11 and take the L1113 (there is a brown fingerpost sign with a flower on it). Stay on this road for about 4 miles. Kilmacurragh Gardens will be signposted on your left. There is a parking area and toilet block and also a Brambles café if you want to bolster your picnic! The Teddy Bears’ Picnic will take place in the picnic area just through the gates from the car park. Please note ball games are not permitted at Kilmacurragh and dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. (Maybe leave the pooch at home if possible on this afternoon as some small children may be nervous.)
