If so please meet at the front reception at 9.30am Friday 13th to help with some weeding and clearing at the front of the school. WETNS Extra-Curricular Update

Please note if you dropped in forms to the registration last week or left them at the office over the last few days please ensure you make payment directly into our ECA bank account or bring payment to the office for my attention. 50% payment is required to hold your place. Many thanks Lisa

Reminder Our Junior and Senior Infants afterschool activities finish at 2.20pm each day. Please ensure you are outside the main office at 2.20 to collect them. Unfortunately, we had a large number of parents arrive late for pickup in our first few days of activities and this was not only distressing for the children left waiting but also delayed us in collecting the older children for the 2.30 activities.

Term 1 Extra-Curricular Activities Programme

We have had a great first week of activities here at the school. On Monday our scientists completed some experiments to learn all about bacteria, we had our first guitar lesson, the children in yoga learned all about breathing exercises and we had a full house in the hall for some great soccer. On Tuesday the children had great fun in playball with lots of games and activities. On Wednesday the children in Drama made some beautiful masks and our sugarcraft group made emoji’s for the tops of their cakes. Today kicks off our Irish dancing group, our arts and crafts classes and the return of chess with Eamonn and Brian! Final chance to register today/tomorrow if you would like a place. Note from Izabela and Damien O’Rourke – Sunday 8th October 2017

Dear parents/guardians, we are hosting a coffee morning event in memory of our beloved child whom we lost last October. The event will take place on Sunday the 8th of October 2017 in De La Salle pastoral centre in Wicklow Town. It will start at 11am until 2pm. We have some great raffle prices too. All money raised on the day and from our funding page (Help Baby Anthony for Holles Street make a difference) will go to N.I.C.U Unit 8 in Holles Street National Maternity Hospital. Money will go towards purchasing equipment, parents support and research and study. We also want to help the Bereavement Clinic in Holles street who right now are upgrading rooms for bereaved parents. Many thanks Izabela and Damien.

Triple A Alliance – Triple A is a local support group for parents whose children have been diagnosed with ASD and/or ADHD. They hold a number of events each month for parents and children. Their Autumn calendar of events is now available on our school noticeboard in the foyer. To book a place email [email protected]

This year we will be hosting the inaugural WETNS Maker’s Festival on 19th November 2017. We are calling all makers and crafters who would like to take a stall at the fair to sell their craft.  We would especially love to see crafters who can demonstrate their craft on the day to all their visitors. For those of you who cannot take a stall but would like to get involved we would love if you could come and help on the day and teach a little crafter skill to the children. We are hoping to have hat upcycling, decoration making, plate painting, gingerbread decorating and much much more.

We will also be running a toy shop on the day to raise funds for your school. Please gather all forgotten or unloved toys and books in your house and we will collect them in the coming weeks. A toy shop will be created at the fair and sold at pocket money prices.
