An update from Mary and Sinead

We have had another very busy and exciting year at Wicklow Educate Together as we continue to settle into our new building.

When we reflect on the year passed it is difficult to believe the children took part in so many activities once again. I have listed some of them below:

Forest School

Trips to Glencrea to take part in fighting words

Write a book competition

Robot construction

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Friendship fortnight including the every popular friendship FM

Intercultural week

Music Generation

Reading with Harvey the dog

In-house library

Music therapy

As ever we have had a high level of sporting participation and success. We continue our involvement with local athletics competitions and participated in rock climbing, tug of war and GAA events. The children also participated in Rugby, Cricket and Tennis. Our Chess championship was also a great success and enjoyed by all. All classes from 2nd to 6th had swimming lessons, funded by the school.

A big thank you to the Parents’ Association for all of their hard work and support during the year.

I would like to thank all of the pupils for doing their very best and for participating fully in school life throughout the year. Special congratulations to our 6th class as they make their transition to 2nd level schools Those schools are Colaiste Chill Mhantain, North Wicklow Secondary School, East Glendalough, Gaelscoil na Mara, Arkow CBS, Domiican College, Avondale Community School. You have been a wonderful sixth class and I wish you all the very best in your new schools.

We would like to thank the parents in the school for their continued support. It is always very much appreciated. A big thank you to all those who volunteered at various activities throughout the year.

Finally, I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the staff for their hard work and commitment throughout the year. With the growth of the school comes new staff and the Board of Management will be appointing these over the summer and look forward to welcoming them in the new term. Wishing you all a lovely summer and we look forward to our return to school on Friday 31st August.
