Report to the school community

Present Robert Greene, Sinéad Watson, Eamonn O’Hanrahan, Graham Byrne, Kenia Puig Planella, Michelle Adebisi, Koryne Smyth

Minutes: The minutes of the December BOM meeting were adopted by the meeting.

Sustainable Energy Ireland have asked the school to complete the recent energy survey for the school.

Wicklow Rugby Club has agreed that the school can use the grounds for this year’s senior sports day.

Department of Education & Skills has issued guidelines for use of school building outside of school hours.

The Child Safeguarding Statement which will replace the Child Protection policy once the new CSS has been ratified by the Board. Kenia to investigate this.

Assistant Principal 1 position will be advertised internally as per DES guidelines.

Proposal re Guided Reading in the school was discussed. Following the WSE the school hope to implement a Guided Reading programme throughout the school. This will require an investment, through book rental monies and investigating if there were any available grants.

Additional Needs Update regarding upcoming NCSE review & 3-year SNA review

Career breaks/Job share A discussion was held in relation to staffing arrangements for next school year.

Premises a correspondence has been drafted to the Council requesting further signage in the area surrounding the school, it was agreed to send the letter.

Sammon – Still looking at heating system as well as ongoing snag issues.

School policies

Intimate Care , Attendance & Enrolment policies were all discussed.

Parent portal & Parents Handbook were also discussed.

Finance Voluntary Contribution letter has been sent out this week – many people have committed to a monthly payment.

DES Last part of capitation grant will be in June. The Ancillary grant will be in March.

ET AGM will be held on 19th May in Kildare. Any motions need to be submitted by 8th March. ET will report back on previous motions at the AGM.

PTA Report: AGM to take place on Thursday 22nd February. New PTA constitution was passed.

After School Activities The demand for after school activities from 2:30-6:00 and Breakfast club were discussed.

Various applications from external parties to use the school outside of school hours were considered

Training next Wednesday for Cara Consultancy managing violence 1-6pm.

May 4th school closed for pupils for staff training in Child Protection Tusla training.
