Dear school community

Please see below our plan for the week ahead to help keep you informed of what is happening in our school.

Important Early Closure Date: Reminder that the school will close early on Friday 29th September to facilitate a staff meeting. Phased closure from 12-12.20. Further details closer to the date.

Start of Year Assessment and Planning

As usual and as part of planning for teaching and learning for the year ahead, our teachers are completing informal checks and assessments with the children this month. These are a standard part of our school year, and help to inform teaching and learning appropriately for the term and year ahead. On occasions, this may involve the children completing an assessment with one of our support teachers outside of the classroom – this may be done individually or in small groups. On other occasions, this may be a whole class assessment. The children are quite used to this, and there is no need for any concern. If you have any questions, however, as always please link in with your child’s class teacher via email to [email protected]. Thank you.

PTA AGM – Dear parents and guardians, we plan to hold the Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 11th October in the school hall between 7:30 and 8:30pm. This really is an excellent opportunity to get involved in school life in whatever way you can. Monday 18th September

Junior Infants welcome meeting – 9am in the main hall

Final date to return junior infants hearing and vision forms to the school

Tuesday 19th September

5th class blue (Liam) – Library visit

Dominican College Wicklow will visit our school to talk with our 6th class girls

Final date to return senior infants flu vaccination (nasal spray) forms to the school

Wednesday 20th September

6th class green swimming during the school day. Reminder to all 6th class parents to ensure children bring some extra lunch on Wednesdays as the children are always hungry after swimming.

Thursday 21st September

6th class blue swimming during the school day. Reminder to all 6th class parents to ensure children bring some extra lunch on Thursdays as the children are always hungry after swimming.

Go girls run – talk with 4th, 5th and 6th class girls

Friday 22nd September

No events

Message from the Parish Office – Religion classes will resume for 1st class on Tuesday 19th September at 3.20. This is a two year programme for those who wish to prepare for the sacraments. Please contact Geraldine in the parish office if you require further information.
