Mobility The board discussed issues of concern among local residents as well as approving an application for a school traffic warden
Covid-19 The lead worker representative Rory Connolly conducted a walkthrough of the school to establish compliance with the school policy on the health and safety of workers as regards Covid19. Rory found that in all rooms there was a high compliance to keep WETNS a safe environment for workers and students alike.
Ongoing review of school policies
Internet Usage policy the Board have decided to review this policy again before the next meeting.
Code of behaviour/anti-bullying policy. In general, the Board were happy with the current policies but have agreed to analyse these policies again before the next meeting to see if any changes need to be made.
- There is no current income from after school activities
- Ancillary costs are much increased from last year.
A tender policy is proposed
- The school’s current accountant is retiring. He has recommended a new accountant, but further quotes will be considered before a new appointment is made.
Premises Cleaning contract, the school lift, internal telephones and maintenance contracts were discussed. The school building extension programme was also detailed in terms of the tenders received and DES compliance requirements
Community Activities The Board discussed how sponsored events and community involvement can take place under Covid-19 restrictions. It was agreed that it is important to be inventive and find ways to continue such activities in the future.
Special Thanks The Board would like to say thank you to the whole school community for their positive response in returning to school under the new circumstances.
