Matters Arising
The interviews for the new caretaker job will take place on Saturday 16th April.
Premises Report
A letter was sent to the DES in mid-March regarding concerns about the current status of the new school building and the lease situation in our current accommodation.
Percent for Art – Donna is currently looking for two parents to join the Percent for Art committee.
School Transport Scheme – A note was put in the newsletter notifying parents that the deadline for application for the school transport scheme for next year is 29th April.
SEAI – Submission for SEAI for Public Sector Efficiency Performance has been made.
Correspondence
Garda Vetting – The National Vetting Bureau Act will commence on 29th April 2016.
A letter was received detailing the motions for the upcoming Educate Together AGM in May.
Principal’s Report:
- Pre enrolment and 2016/17 classes update – 57 Junior Infants have accepted places with 57 on the waiting list.
- INTO and Moratorium on posts of responsibility – members have voted not to engage with School Self Evaluation process.
- Sinéad shared the proposed school Calendar. The Board approved the proposed dates.
- After School activities – Sinéad to survey parents to find out what after school activities they would be interested in the school providing.
Finance
The school is in a better financial then at the same time last year.
Costs for general utilities, classroom expenses our lower than last year.
Income has increased significantly, mostly due to the grants received for the new building. These grants will be very beneficial in helping to facilitate work in the new building.
Ongoing review of school policies
The job sharing policy, the language policy and the class formation policy were all ratified by the Board.
Kenia shared draft policy updates for RSE policy and SEN policy. Both the Board and the staff are to review these policies before they are ratified.
The school website is to be moved to word press. It is hoped that this will make the website more accessible for the whole school community.
PTA Report
Farewell to Marine House – Sinéad distributed a general plan for the day. The Board agreed to look over the plan and provide feedback. The Board agreed to provide caterers if they are needed for the day.
