Premises Report (inc’ Health and Safety)
Greystones Educate Together contacted regarding Health and Safety plan for moving to the new school. They didn’t have a specific Health and Safety plan but stressed how well organised the move was.
Gerry, Kenia and Mary Dee completed a Health and Safety walkthrough of the school building on 28th January. Gerry and Kenia to investigate if a Health and Safety template could be created to help with the annual report.
The new caretaker job will be advertised later this month.
More subdued palette for exterior of building agreed.
The electrical set up is set to 40kVA for the new school.
SEAI –Donna will be attending a seminar 10th March
Principal’s Report:
- Pre-enrolment update – still in the process of offering places for this September. 56 places are to be filled with 43 having accepted places. The process of offering places for all other classes will commence following the midterm break.
- INTO – Members will be balloted following midterm break –work to rule on school self-evaluation.
- The Flag raising ceremony for the school will take place on the 15th March.
Finance:
Koryne circulated income and expenditure statement for period ending January 31st 2016. Overall, the school is in a better financial position than last year.
Board will review cost of sundries for next year.
Board discussed the possibility in an increased cost for swimming for next year due to needing a bus. This issue will be discussed at staff meeting.
Ongoing review of school policies:
The language and class formation policies will be circulated to the school community.
Job sharing formation policy circulated.
The Child collection policy can be updated to the website.
SEN policy will be reviewed and circulated for the next meeting.
ICT policy update – first meeting of the ICT committee took place on January 25th. School policies related to ICT will need to be reviewed or developed.
E.T Report:
Educate Together have proposed that each school pay €1000 to ET to help pay for any costs, which is mainly due to the opening of new schools.
AGM – The Educate Together AGM will take place on 21st May. Any motions that are put before the AGM will need to be submitted before 21st March.
PTA Report:
The PTA detailed a calendar of events for 2016.
