World Book Day 2022 – Dear school community, we are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day 2022 on the 3rd of March in school. We would like to invite all students to dress up as their favourite character from their favourite book, as a fundraiser to purchase new books for our classroom libraries. If all students could bring in €2 each on the day, it would be greatly appreciated. We would also kindly ask all parents and guardians, if you have any good quality books that you would like to donate to the school. All donations would be greatly welcomed. Books can be dropped to the school office.

Thank you for your time and we are looking forward to seeing some famous literary characters coming to life.

ROAD Forward: winning schools We are delighted to announce that we are one of two Wicklow schools who were selected to take part in a project to encourage reading. All our sixth class pupils will receive a copy of ‘Why the Moon Travels’, a collection of folk tales rooted in the oral tradition of the Irish Traveller community collected by Oein DeBhairduin and illustrated by Leanne McDonagh.

Wicklow ETNS on the airwaves – As part of a series on the education system in Ireland, Newstalk FM visited our school last week and spoke to some of our community about their experience of an Educate Together school. The piece is due to be aired on the Pat Kenny radio show this week, and will be available as a podcast to listen to afterwards on their website.

A huge thank you to Róisín, Janice, Nicola and Louisa who were available at extremely short notice to come up and meet with the Newstalk interviewer.

Blue Bays – are for use by permit holders and parking permit for people with disabilities holders (when those who the permit was granted for are in the vehicle). We have seen a significant increase in the Blue Bays being utilised for the earlier collection both 1.10pm and 1.20pm.   A reminder to parents/guardians of Junior and Senior Infant’s classes that the Blue Bays are for permit holders only. We would kindly request that you do not park in these bays when collecting.  We would also ask that you share this information with any childminders etc who may be collecting for you.

Courses/Talks in the Libraries – We have been informed of some courses and talks for parents/guardians on different areas of additional needs being held by the library service.
