Dear School Community
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all families for the wonderful support you have given the school throughout the term. I, together with all of the staff are as always very grateful to you for the kindness, appreciation and understanding you show us.
As with all schools this has been an extremely challenging term for us all here at Wicklow Educate Together. You are aware of the public health requirements that now go hand in hand with keeping the school operating during these times of Covid. And, like all other schools, we face the challenge of teacher shortages and increased staff absences. We are so grateful to you for your support throughout and we are delighted with our amazing pupils who take it all in their stride and continue to thrive and learn every day. It hasn’t been easy, but we’ve got here!
I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff who work as a wonderful team at all times. Whether it is welcoming the children safely to their classrooms in the mornings to ensuring that the curriculum is relevant and special to each child or to maximizing the use of our outdoor space – thank you all. With special mention and thanks to Sharon and Eamonn for their leadership and unwavering support to all. We are extremely fortunate to have our wonderful office staff, Lisa and Alma who support and assist all within the community every day and quite honestly are irreplaceable – it is all greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Garry our caretaker for his hard work and dedication.
Early next week we will be posting your child’s class end of term celebration video, I hope you enjoy seeing some of the work and learning of the children that they and the staff have been working on over the term. Many thanks to you all for these happy memories of our first term this school year.
Please find attached the school calendar for the remainder of the year, with a special mention that parent teacher meetings will take the form of telephone call which will be hosted during the month of January, more details to follow.
Wishing all our families and staff a very happy festive season. I hope you get the chance to enjoy a lovely holiday in the coming weeks, have a really happy Christmas and a great new year ahead.
All my best Sinead

School Calendar Fundraiser Thank you to everyone who purchased a school calendar supporting the development of our Outdoor Learning Space. Well done to all of the children and teachers for preparing the art and colours for each theme. It is such an important fundraiser and a lovely reminder of your child’s time in the school. Our calendars completely sold out this year. We raised a total of €2,805. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to print any further calendars at this point.
The school would like to thank SKC, Eoin O’Neill Electrical and ONG Heating and Plumbing for sponsoring our calendar this year. In particular a big thank you to Janice for organising, taking and collecting all of the photos this year.
Warm Winter Clothing With the cold weather please remember to have your child suitably dressed. Children will continue to be outside as much as possible. Even on what seems to be a nice day, it can be very cold in the yard so a coat, a hat, a scarf and gloves would be very beneficial to have in your child’s bag throughout the winter season. Please remember to label all clothing. Many thanks
Inbhear Dee Athletics Club are holding their annual St Stephens Day 5km Run. This year they are raising money for a very special project – The Field of Dreams which is a 1 mile running trail on the Murrough. They are asking for your support. Please see attached information.
